Learning Mentor Literacy

Endeavour provides alternative educational opportunities for young people unable to engage with mainstream approaches. We are looking for one enthusiastic and professional individuals to join the Education Centre team as Lead Mentors, to lead the development and delivery of a programme of Literacy linked to personal development and character building. The successful candidate will offer new experiences and challenges to young people that build self-esteem, confidence and the ability to reflect, and ultimately, assist the young person to progress positively with their life as well as opportunity to achieve qualifications in English.


Experience of working with young people who present challenging behaviour is desirable, alongside experience of delivering experiential learning and outdoor activity.


Based at Earl Marshall Road, Sheffield, S4 8FB

Salary Range: £21,000 - 23,000 per annum full time.

Location: Sheffield
Work Times: 35 hours per week (term time only)
Hours: 08:30 - 16:00 (Monday to Thursday)
Responsible to: Head of Education

Support and deputise for the Head of Education.

You will lead the development of Literacy so that all learners have access to an appropriate, challenging and organised curriculum. You will embed Literacy across all curriculum areas and themes.

Lead Mentor’s will have a thematic responsibility within the Education Centre such as Behaviour Management, Curriculum Management, Pastoral Support or Safeguarding. There will be other duties in addition to the delivery role.   

You will plan and implement high quality programmes for individuals and groups of learners, which meet their needs, and enable them to reach their full potential as individuals and members of society.

This is a high pressure role where you will be working independently. You will be required to be resilient and organised.
