Our friends at Made To Move are taking part in a series of adventurous challenges this year, all to raise money for Endeavour!

Last summer, Rory (founder of Made to Move) and his team took part in Endeavour's Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising a huge £5000! They are hoping to top that in 2022, with a number of activities designed to challenge their fitness, endurance and resilience, with a target of raising £10,000 for Endeavour over the course of the year. Check out some photos below from last years event!

In 2022, the Made To Move team are pushing even harder, with three hard-core outdoor challenges involving hill walking, canoeing, rock climbing, abseiling, caving and cycling, and finishing with a Marathon in the wonderful city of Lisbon!

Day 1: Middle Derwent Canoeing River Trip

The Middle Derwent offers exciting rapids, stunning scenery and the opportunity to learn control of canoes on moving water. A fantastic  journey! This section of the River Derwent lies between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. It’s approximately 6km long, with plenty of places to learn basic river canoeing skills.

Day 2: Helvellyn (via Striding and Swirral Edges)

Route Start Location: Glenridding; Distance: 12.94 km; Ascent: 1059 m

Striding Edge is an exposed scramble that should only be attempted if you’re a confident hill walker and have a head for heights. We will take the easiest of lines to avoid the major dangers (though there will still be ample challenge).  The climb up Helvellyn via Striding Edge and Swirral Edge is one of those routes that should be on every hillwalker’s CV. This of the best walks and scrambles in the Lake District if not the UK.

The Ramathon is the oldest and biggest event of its kind in Derbyshire. It was organised by Run For All for the first time in 2018.

The event will be bigger and better than ever. The exciting new route starts and finishes in Iron Gate close to Derby Cathedral and takes in Pride Park Stadium, Alvaston Park and the stunning scenery of Elvaston Castle Country Park.

The course is fast and flat. A fantastically vibrant atmosphere on the day is guaranteed.

Starting at Endeavour HQ in Fir Vale, the Peak District Multi Activity Challenge will take the team on a 24 mile cycle through the beautiful Peak District to Stoney Middleton, where they will complete a caving challenge before cycling on to Millers Dale for a 60ft abseil from the famous bridge.

The final challenge for the Made To Move team is to tackle the EDP Lisbon Marathon in Portugal. A 42km course that is flat, fast and incredibly scenic.

The EDP Lisbon Marathon is considered one of the most beautiful races in the world. Starting in Cascais and finishing at the square: Praça do Comercio, the Marathon course is 100% sea and riverside, providing to the runners a unique view along with the race. The EDP Lisbon Marathon is an official race of the International Athletics Federation (IAAF) calendar. This international event is attracting top elite athletes and thousands of foreign runners from all over the world.
